Questions Configuration

When setting up any Question on Yumpingo in any service style, you have the option to add specific rules to each Question. This means each Question will be tailored to provide the best and simplest experience for customers. 


Specific Venues

This rule is to determine which venues will see the question. You have the option to pick and choose any or all venues for a question, depending on your need.

  • By default a Question is set up to be asked in every venue for the given service style.


To add select venues to a question:

  • Navigate to the service style you'd like to add a question for.
  • Click the + in the column you're adding a category for.
  • Click on the category & question you'd like to add.
  • This will open up the Configure questions page.
  • Click Only at specific venues to open the list of all the venues within the service style.
  • Select which venues from the list you'd like to have this specific Question.
  • Scroll down to see the full list of venues selected to double check, and click done to go back to the configurations page.




Specific Dates and Times


By default a Question is set up to be asked all of the time. You can select more specific periods:

  • Start date - Schedule the Question to only start in the future and not be used immediately.

  • Days of the week - Set for Questions that are only applicable on certain days.

  • Time range - Choose which time period your specific Question should be asked.




Automatic Question Turn Off

Choose for the Question to be automatically turned off:

  • After a specified date

  • Once a certain number of responses per brand/venue have been collected

If you choose this option you can also set up the Question to repeat at pre-specified intervals.



Rotation settings

You can choose whether a question rotates or is fixed.

  • Fixed - This Question is asked on every guest survey.

  • Rotating - This Question will only appear on some surveys. For example, if your Questionnaire has 10 rotating questions and each survey has 5 Question Slots, each rotating question will be asked 50% of the time.




Specific Food and Drink Items and Categories

For POS connected integrations only, a question can be set up to only be asked if a specific item was on the customer's bill or an item was ordered in a certain category. This helps to get vital information from guests such as feedback on new dishes or allergy requirements.


To add a question only for an item or category:

  • In the questions configurations page, select either Only for specific items or Only for specific categories to open the list of all the items or categories within that services style.
  • Select which Items or Categories from the list you'd like to have this specific Question.
  • Scroll down to see the full list of venues selected to double check, and click done to go back to the configurations page.
